Wizards and Pringles Team Up For Special Edition Foil Card Storage Container
Battle Creek, MI - Wavy chip company Pringles and wavy cardboard manufacturer Wizards of the Coast announced a partnership to create a new storage can perfect for holding warped Magic: The Gathering foil cards.
The design has been worked on for a few months and began when a chairperson for the Pringles Board of Directors, Grant Hampton, discovered online discourse about foil Magic cards.
"To be honest, I was unfamiliar with the card game," explained Hampton from the deck of his Pringle-shaped yacht, "but I always keep tabs on Pringles references and memes. One day while checking on our SEO, I came across a bunch of posts of people showing off their 'pringled' foil cards. I investigated the phenomenon and found out it was a pretty widespread issue, but I realized we could turn it into an opportunity.
"That's why we're happy to announce these Pringles-brand card storage tubes. We took years to design the perfect can for holding the heat-warped potatoes that the world loves. Luckily we took less time to design the storage tube for heat-warped foils, which is similar to the Pringles can in that it's the same thing; we've repurposed regular cans to hold cards."
While this seems like a promising partnership and product, people within Wizards of the Coast are unhappy that the product is effectively mocking them, claims spokesperson Trent Crosby.
"Look, we're Wizards, you know we like to do outlandish partnerships," conceded Crosby while trying in vain to get his hand unstuck from a salt and vinegar Pringles can. "But even I'm having second thoughts about this. It's a joke about our cards having such low quality that they easily warp the second they leave the pack. We should be fixing the issue, not making a product celebrating it. Unfortunately, we're going through with it since the preorder for 10,000 units sold out within the first hour, even with the elaborate queue system I made to dissuade buyers."
The cans will come with a pre-warped foil promo Rocco, Street Chef card, in the Universes Beyond style with art of Julius Pringle, the chip company mascot.
